September Skies

September Skies - Lion's Head ON

September skies create a mood unlike any other time of the year. September skies remind us that winter is coming, the leaves will soon change, and snow is going to fly. And yet, September skies are comforting, like warm quilts, a fire in the hearth, and pumpkin pie.

September skies have their own unique blend of grays and blues with hints of other colours. The winds pick up and we get more rainy days but September has character. Interspersed with the gray days are beautiful sunny days with summer-like temperatures and the occasional overnight dip producing early morning frost on the grass and pumpkins.

September is a great month for landscape photography. Now … for some reason … I'm thinking about pumpkin pie with whipped cream …
