St. George's Square Statuary

St. George's Square Statuary - Guelph, Ontario

St. George's Square in Guelph, Ontario, has changed dramatically over the years. If I remember correctly, it once had a large crown hanging in the middle of the square. The crown is long gone, as are many of the older buildings. Even a street that intersected with the square has been replaced by a mall and arena.

On the other hand, new elements have been added. In 1985 a 'family' statue by sculptor, William McElcheran, was unveiled by the Governor General. Here's my photo of the sculpture and the dancing waters of the fountain.
